Implant Retained Dentures
Implant retained dentures are similar to a full denture but instead of relying on suction to hold its place in your mouth they clip on and off supports in your gums. This process begins with a dental implant placed into the jaw bone and is left to heal for three to six months. Once it has healed an abutment is placed on each implant and your denture is re-modelled to clip on and off. After your surgery and six months of healing time you are now ready to either have your existing denture modified to fit to the implants or a new impression taken for a new denture to fit the implants.
